Today marks a momentous day! It is the first time that I have ridden a bus in the States! (Apart from school buses...) It was great! It is finally getting cold here in Louisville. We had a pretty awesome warm snap that lasted us through the first part of November, but now it is offically getting cold. I drove to work on Tuesday and the rain was bouncing off my windshield, i.e. it was a little icy! So, we made a decision to make Rusty stop riding his scooter and for me to take the bus to work and then he would pick me up in the afternoon. It is $1.50 for a one way ticket, so not too bad. And, there is a stop about 10 minutes from our house!
What a fun experience. The bus was a little late, so I was beginning to get a little nervous, but low-and-behold, just 8 minutes after its scheduled pick up time, the bus came right up to me and let me on! I felt like I was in Europe again, trying to make my way to a seat without falling as the bus is chugging along. I got to my stop with 15 minutes to walk to my building, so that made me about 10 minutes early to work! It worked out just wonderfully!! And, we don't have to buy a second car right now, which is even more wonderful! :)
