Apple Picking!

I love apple picking! It is one of my favorite things to do in the fall. Rusty and I have been a couple of times, and we went a couple of weekends ago to a farm in Indiana. It was only about a 30 minute drive north through beautiful farm land. What a pretty part of the country we live in!

We arrived at Huber's Farm in time for lunch. After we had our fill of the yummy bratworst, we headed out to the trees to do some apple picking! We had missed some of the season, but the fuji apples were still on the trees! We rode the tractor out to the orchard and passed broccoli plants, grape vines, tomato plants, withered corn stalks, and so much more! If we had come at the right time, we could have picked whatever produce we wanted to! I've never been broccoli picking, but it looked like fun! When we got to the orchards, we ate our fill of apples as we filled our bag to take home. It was a great time! No climbing trees necessary, which we were both a little disappionted with.

Back at the main farm area, we strolled through the country store and picked up a pumpkin and two funky goards for some fall decorations. We also bought some sweet potatoes and corn for our dinner that night! What a difference fresh produce makes! The sweet potatoes were the sweetest I had ever tasted! What a fun day! Here is Rusty with our beautiful fall arrangement on our front step. We are going to go back to Huber's Farm in the spring when they will have blackberry and raspberry picking! :)
